"Crazy In Love" by Snow Patrol |
] |
This is an update for four reasons:
Reason Numba Wun!: Kat says I don't update here. So in yer fayce!
Reason Numba Tew!: Faith, I haven't mailed your CD for two reasons. One, I forgot for a while. Two, when I was going to burn you a copy, I realized that I've got three songs very close to done. So I'm going to finish those three songs, then send it to you. You'll have three speshel tracks!
Reason Numba Thrii!: My friend Daniel sent me a copy of "Crazy In Love" by Snow Patrol. Yes, "Crazy In Love," as in the Beyonce song. And yes, Snow Patrol, as in the Scottish rock band that did the song "Run." It sounds terrible on paper, but it's reeeeeally good. Damn.
Reason Numba Faur!: Meme stolen from t3h Fayth!
Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one of a lot of reason[s] why I like/love/adore you. Then put this in your own journal, and spread the love.
Reason Numba Fahve!: (yes, I know, I said four. I broke my own rules. So shoot me.) There are a lot of spelling mistakes on this post. It irks me, but I'm keeping them because it looks funny. Muahahaha.
Toodles.

Wow... the concert was freakin' amazing. That was one of the best concerts I've gone to in a long while.
People in Planes = Pretty dang good.
VHS or Beta = HOLY GOD OH EM GEE SO GOOOOOOOOOOOD.
The Bravery = Very, very, VERY good. I still liked VHS or Beta better (if that wasn't obvious).
So yeah... Homecoming could NOT have been better than this. This was awesome.
For a full recap, go to my Xanga. It's got all the specifics and insights and etc. www.xanga.com/sing_it_again
Until next time good people, g'dbye!

"Liefde" by Taylor Williams (that's me!) |
] |
Well, I'm in a good mood (school notwithstanding... school's not too great). Why, you ask? Because I freakin' recorded an EP! Whee! Six songs, all original, all instruments played by me. I am the excited.
School is... bleh. I'm not enjoying Humanities that much. Here's hoping for the Jazz Age.
And instead of Homecoming, I'm going to the NorVa with a few friends to see The Bravery, VHS or Beta, and People in Planes. Somehow, I have to imagine that there will be better music where I'm going than at Homecoming. Just saying.
I don't think that I've stated how awesome Stars and The Arcade Fire are, so I'll do so here: They. Are. Awesome.
And that's all. Until next time, g'dbye and g'dnight.

Hey, this died for a while, so I revived it using my super-special life powers.
I've gotten a lot more music recently, which is again good. Sigur Ros is amazing, by the way.
School has been stressful for a while. I've been getting less-than-enough sleep recently, and I've been overall bleh. But, now that projects and tests are over, it should be good. We'll see how it goes.
I submit that this is the most boring post in the history of history. Until next time, g'dbye.

"I Will Follow You Into The Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie |
] |
Ay, it's been a while since I updated (again. Jeez, I'm sorry). So here's the deal, I got a lot of new music. I now have:
-"Funeral" by The Arcade Fire -"Set Yourself On Fire" by Stars -"You Can Play These Songs With Chords" by Death Cab for Cutie -"Plans" by Death Cab for Cutie -"Howl" by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club -"Seal Beach EP" by The Album Leaf
Yeah, that's a lot of music. All that I've been listening to has been quite good, except for one thing. I'm still really torn about the Arcade Fire. I mean, I love some of their songs, but can't stand others. Bleh, we'll see.
School has started officially, and I have Drama everyday! I am so excited, I love that class to death. And we still haven't gotten our Dells, which is a problem. I need it to have something to do during classtime. Ohs well.
And... that's all I got. G'dbye and g'dnight!

Holy canoli, I'm back from NYC. 'Twas awesome to the max. I even got to see Jon Lithgow in "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." Now I must acquire that soundtrack. I'll talk about it later... maybe. Until next time, g'dbye!

GONE! I leave for NYC tomorrow morning, and I'll be back in a week (7 days... for all those slow people out there). I get to look at art, see a play, visit some family (some, not a lot thank God). I have all the pics from the last trip on my computer, so there'll be a picture post after I get back.
On totally unrelated news, I went on a poetry spree today. So there.

Well, I'm back from Alaska. There will be a picture post here or on Xanga soon (or whenever I feel like it, whatever). Until then, if you really want to hear the stories, you'll have to hear them verbally, because I cannot type out that much.
And holy crap. What the hell. God damn. Generic phrase of shock.

Jesus. The world has lost its damn mind. It really got ugly out there, didn't it? I cannot believe some of the stuff I read about that. All over a damn iBook (which was probably broken and outdated to begin with).

"Tiny Vessels" by Death Cab For Cutie |
] |
Ok, let's get this knocked out:
I'm going on a cruise around Alaska soon, so I decided to do some research: ( Alaska Homework )
And then there's this: ( Read if you wish. )
And a few passing thoughts: -"Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day is a good song. -The Postal Service (the band, not the parcel delivery service) is awesome. -"Transatlanticism" by Death Cab For Cutie is a great album (I especially love "Tiny Vessels"). -... as is "Strange and Beautiful" by Aqualung. -... as is "X&Y" by Coldplay. -... as is "Antics" by Interpol. Ditto for "Turn On The Bright Lights." -Burnout 3 on the Xbox? Awesomeness in disc form. -"Saved!" is a very good movie. Actually, now that I think about it, it's kinda in the same spirit as the second LJ-Cut. Only it has a bit of humor in it. Quite good, especially coming from a school kinda like that (only less insanely crazy).
And that's pretty much it. Tomorrow I leave for Alaska (as stated above), and the cruise should be fun. There'll be a huge picture post afterwards on either this or my Xanga. I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Later days.

First off, swiped from Maggie. I'm contractually bound to post this here:
1. Reply and I will write something about you. 2. I will then tell what song(s) reminds me of you. 3. I will tell you what fictional character(s) you remind me of. 4. I will try to name a single word that best describes you. 5. I'll tell you the most memorable moment(s) I've had with you. 6. I will tell you what animal(s) you remind me of. 7. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you. 8. Put this in your journal.
Now then, the reason that I'm tired. Friday at noon was the start of a 24 hour movie party that one of my friend's threw. So I was there until 12 Saturday, without sleep. It was fun and all. The movies were entirely children's movies, which was interesting (I saw some that I remembered, and some that I didn't... *coughcoughLabrynthcoughcough*).
Then, right afterwards, I came home, showered, and went to a second party. So now I'm dead tired, and we have company over. Fun fun. It's only been two days of summer, and it already feels like a week. Until next time, g'dbye!

So... there's this place off of art.com that allows you to paint and draw and splatter paint and all that stuff. I figured it would be a cool thing to do while killing a bit of time.
Now I'm addicted. Seriously, it's like chocolate-flavored LSD. So here's a few things I've done. One of the coolest features of the site is that you get to see them being created (like the paintbrush moving and stuff).
Note: Those paintings marked with * are meant to be watched all the way through. This may take a while, so I would suggest moving the little speed dial under "replay speed control" all the way over to fast. The rest, you can just skip to the end to see the final product, there's no movie-type thing about those. But it's really fun still. Enjoy!
Wish You Were Here*
To Someone*
The City's Heart Beats With Mine
Boink
The Many Shades of My Heart
And, from the "wacked out abstract art" collection, Bless This Mess
Yeah, so those are my pieces of crap, but there are much better ones on the site (just click "View Another"). Or, you can paint your own! It's fun stuff, and it's a great way to vent or pour emotion into something.
So yeah, this is what I'm going to be doing on the new Dells that we're going to get next year. Every class that is boring in any way possible. Enjoy!... perhaps...
Not much else to report. Really close to the end of school, and then Driver's Ed. So, until next time, g'dbye!

So, here's a few things going on:
1. Exams are really soon, and I'm ready. I've only got three exams to take, which is verrah nice.
2. School's almost over, which is also verrah nice. I've got a few books to read, and a bit of homework to do, and Driver's Ed over summer, and... relaxation. Wow, what a novel concept.
3. I GOT COLDPLAY'S NEW ALBUM!!! Ahhhh, I love it so much. It's wonderful wonderful wonderful.
4. I've gotten some more Iron & Wine, and now I'm close to convinced that Iron & Wine and Coldplay can do no wrong.
5. I got my learner's permit! So now I can start driving under strict supervision! Whee!
And that's all I can think of right now so... enjoy your beef jerky. Until next time, g'dbye.

"The Trapeze Swinger" by Iron & Wine (AMAZING song!) |
] |
Ok, so it's been a while, so here's a conversation that I just had about one of the most mind-boggling lists I've seen, headphones, and pooping wheat stalks (conversation with Bratney/Austin, whichever name thou wish to call her):
*WARNING: contains some language and images not suitable for anyone in their right mind.*
WayOfTheGuitar: ah, I'm mostly troubled about issues of the mind WayOfTheGuitar: like, thought and philosophies right now Ramen ga suki: *nods* go on WayOfTheGuitar: well, there's this list made by a conservative webpage WayOfTheGuitar: which lists the most harmful books of the 19th and 20th century WayOfTheGuitar: and number one? Communist Manifesto WayOfTheGuitar: number two? Mein Kampf WayOfTheGuitar: my question is: how the fuck does the Communist Manifesto outrank Mein Kampf WayOfTheGuitar: strictly from a philisophical view, Mein Kampf is much more dangerous and harmful than the Communist Manifesto WayOfTheGuitar: and even from a real viewpoint, Mein Kampf led to more turmoil than the Communist Manifesto WayOfTheGuitar: plus, on the list, "On Liberty" by John Stuart Mills (the article basically formed the thought for our constitution) is an "honorable mention" for most dangerous Ramen ga suki: hmmm, that is interesting Ramen ga suki: who made this list? WayOfTheGuitar: a conservative "think-tank" WayOfTheGuitar: I'll send you the link, just lemme fish it out WayOfTheGuitar: http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=7591 WayOfTheGuitar: and some books on sex and feminism also ranked rather high WayOfTheGuitar: which boggles my mind Ramen ga suki: they're just scared of little 3 year olds gettin them WayOfTheGuitar: seems like it WayOfTheGuitar: I mean, Origin of Species is an honorable mention? Ramen ga suki: sheesh...a society run by white, non caring males WayOfTheGuitar: isn't that one of their biggest fears at the moment? WayOfTheGuitar: yeah, white, apathetic males thinking through their dicks WayOfTheGuitar: no wonder we're getting screwed Ramen ga suki: XD nice WayOfTheGuitar: lol WayOfTheGuitar: thank gawd for music WayOfTheGuitar: or else I would consider just ramming my head into a wall or something WayOfTheGuitar: not that I'm not thinking about it now, I just don't want to ruin the headphones Ramen ga suki: HAHA XD Ramen ga suki: yea, those die quickly anyways WayOfTheGuitar: exactly WayOfTheGuitar: no need to expedite the process over old, white men WayOfTheGuitar: I bet they'd have a stroke if they actually *read* any of the books on that list WayOfTheGuitar: like Kinsey's book WayOfTheGuitar: jesus, they'd die of ecstasy WayOfTheGuitar: "Wait, I can do WHAT with my dick? *passes out*" Ramen ga suki: XD Ramen ga suki: funny Ramen ga suki: I wonder if any of them have even read those WayOfTheGuitar: the sad part is that I bet they learned all the know about sex from their priests WayOfTheGuitar: "And if you look at a girl with lust in your eyes, it'll turn to salt!" WayOfTheGuitar: that's why a lot of people are coming out of the closet. They've been taught not to look at girls with lust, so they started looking at guys Ramen ga suki: XD that's bad Tay WayOfTheGuitar: well yeah WayOfTheGuitar: but have you seen the perfect irony? Ramen ga suki: go write your own book Ramen ga suki: see if you can get the number one spot Ramen ga suki: XD WayOfTheGuitar: most of the strongest anti-gay people have been coming out in droves WayOfTheGuitar: hah, I'd rule the list Ramen ga suki: I know XD WayOfTheGuitar: it wouldn't be "Top 10 most Harmful books," it would be "Why You Shouldn't Listen to this Jerk-off" WayOfTheGuitar: jesus, I need to calm down Ramen ga suki: heh, go get some tea Ramen ga suki: green tea or chai WayOfTheGuitar: ah, if only there was some around here WayOfTheGuitar: all I got is... Mountain Dew WayOfTheGuitar: crap, that's not gonna help Ramen ga suki: ....nope Ramen ga suki: have any bread? Ramen ga suki: go make toast WayOfTheGuitar: yeah, seven grain WayOfTheGuitar: *bleh* Ramen ga suki: or a pb and j sandwitch WayOfTheGuitar: if you can find someone that can eat seven grain bread and NOT shit wheat stalks, I'd love to meet 'em Ramen ga suki: hahaha, sad WayOfTheGuitar: lol, I know WayOfTheGuitar: but that crap is nasty
....Yeah, that's what I've been thinking about. And school is moving briskly towards its end, thankfully. We'll see what happens after that. Nothing much else to report, so until next time, g'dbye!
Peace Out, Guitar Dude
